About

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-National Integrated Fisheries and Technology Development Center is located in a 27 hectare coastal area along the Lingayen Gulf in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines.

Initially, the facility was built by the JICA Japan as a research center for oyster in February 1985. It was turned-over to BFAR in May 1997.

Under the new set-up, the NIFTDC transformed into a research, development and training center on aquaculture focused on fish breeding, propagation of shellfishes and crustaceans, development of various farming and value adding (food processing) technologies.

Functions
  1. Conducts development studies on various aquaculture species focused on breeding/propagation and farming.
  2. Provide technical, laboratory and training services to the fisheries industry.
